A Presence In The Community

So as to be a more visible presence in the region, we moved into a downtown space located at 211 East Alma Street in Mount Shasta in the summer of 2001. This is growing into a full-fledged information and advocacy center, in addition to serving as a meeting location and site of many educational and community events and celebrations.

OFFICE HOURS:

Currently the Center is open to the public during the following hours:

Mondays 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Fridays 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Other hours can be scheduled on request. Please call 530 926 5655. We need volunteers to keep the Center open more hours on a regular basis.

PLEASE VISIT! If you live in the area or are planning a visit, please drop in! You'll see displays of our projects, such as those protecting the natural beauty and cultural significance of Mount Shasta and the Medicine Lake Highlands, as well as maps and other educational materials on local watersheds and forests. The Center is for our Mountain Community near and far. Any help you wish to give, any ideas or input, we'd love to hear from you.

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT THE CENTER! In order to meet the rent and utilities every month, we're inviting monthly, quarterly or annual pledges designated for the Center. Please click JOIN! and check the appropriate box on the Membership Form. Pledges are tax deductible.

CENTER NEEDS: Needs for the Center include volunteers to spend some time on a regular basis to greet people and share information. "Regular" can mean volunteering for set times per week or per month. We could also use a round table and chairs for the space, a recent model computer or two, and a copy machine. Any help you wish to give, any ideas or input, I'd love to hear from you. The cash value of donated items is tax deductible.

UPCOMING EVENTS: Our next event is a Book, Art and Bake Sale on Saturday, December 7th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please click on Calendar for more information and future events. If you have any books or "objets d'art" you wish to donate, please call us at 530 926 5655. We hope you'll stop by during the sale and find some unique treasures, just in time for Christmas giving….

THANK YOU! We appreciate everyone who's helped bring the Center along this far. With your continued participation, the Center will become an even greater inspiration for awareness of the beauty and significance of our bioregion. Thank you again for your ongoing support.
